Hurlinges allow fast accurate fitting of doors, they are a surface mounted hinge and do not require to be "set-in" to the edge of the door or door frame as the two leaves sit flush with each other when closed. Hurlinges usually feature to lugs on the knuckle of the hinge to help with lining up the hinge to the door and are a popular choice with carpenters and DIY.
What is the difference between a standard flush hinge and a hurlinge? is a question we are often asked. Unlike a standard flush hinge where the knuckle of the hinge projects from only one side of the hinge leaves, the knuckle of a hurlinge is offset to be more centralised to the hinge leaves and provides a symmetrical appearance between the door and frame. Three inch hurlinges also feature locating lugs to quickly and accurately line up the hurlinge to the door.
Hurlinges are available in the following design options.
- Choice of 3 or 4 inch lengths.
- Choice of; polished chrome, satin chrome, polished brass, bright zinc, or self coloured steel.
